Your Daily Lifestyle

Take care of your self so you can take care of others. One of my philosophy in life and I keep of reminding myself to be healthy inside out. We are surrounded with toxic products that many of us are even aware of. We should learn the essence of self-care as this is a good self-investment. According to Melissa Steginus, "Avoid over-scheduling ourselves and have a free time to do creative things or do nothing at all", which I believe that she is right. I think a good daily habit is a good start and help raise such awareness to our friends and loved ones.

Below are some healthy habits for a healthy lifestyle.

- Put God first in everything you do
- Stop Smoking
- Daily 5 minutes workout, running or yoga
- Include fresh fruits or vegetables in every meal.
- Learn to meditate
- Cut out red and processed food
- Read, write and talk to a friend
- Do an annual physical exam
- Drink lots of water everyday
-  Spend a quiet time at the beach or mountain.

Writing a Poetry

We are living in a a world where many people are getting more and more busy. They don't why they are so tired at the end of the day and they say they do not have time for this or that. But they can spend 1-2 hours just reading or commenting of what's going in the social media. and now, our beloved country, Philippines is listed in the lowest category in reading comprehension and second lowest in science and mathematics among 79 countries according to survey.

The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) tested around 600,000 15-year-old students in 79 countries through the 2018 Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). Many of us were not happy of the result. Philippines got an average of 340 which is also below the average of OECD average of 487.

See article link here

Parents should be alarmed with these results and since we always don't get the best education, I think parents has a huge duty to introduce poetry to their children. It only does not calm a mind of a child but it allows us to express our thoughts and heals some emotional pain. Our creativity comes out when we write poems and it opens our mind to understand the language more deeper and helps us appreciate all things around us.

Please bare in mind that we are not only promoting freedom of expression at home but we are building a young artist. Poetry writing helps us bring out what feel either it is fun, love, excitement or fear. And remember how poems collaborate with music. These two elements create love and peace and so let us spread love and peace in this universe now.

Reach Out to Your Loved Ones

No man is an island. That is a meditative book written by John Donne and I think we should always bring this awareness to our friends and loved ones. We must have seen some news about suicidal issues and people experiencing depression and as a human being, we should help others surpass it and reach to them.

Some people prefers to be alone and that is fine as long they are happy. But for those whom we see that struggles a bit in facing life challenges and those who are rather be away from people because just simply they do not want to, as their family or close friends, we should do something and help them.

Reaching out to someone gives us a thought that can help both and support each other on our rightful place. Reaching out to someone when we are confused with many things will help us sort our emotions and thoughts. I think people should unite more in a more physical manner. Real talk and warm hugs is better than sending an "ok" sign or smiley as an answer to text or chat messages. Life should be meaningful and we should treasure every moment with our loved ones.

Handling Depression

Whenever we are confused and feeling lost, reaching out to a friend or family member is really important. Many of us doesn't know that we are under depression. this is something that  we must teach our children and so as in school.

But there are some possible ways to beat depression and save lives.

  • Having a regular exercise is one of the best way to take care of your mental health. Exercising or doing a simple run increases your body temperature, which can have a calming effect on the central nervous system.
  • Cut back on spending time in Social Media -  sometimes things we read on social media doesn't help. Real talk with real people helps more. Social media can be addicting and it eats a lot of our time.
  • Calm your mind -  try to reduce stress. practice some mindfulness or meditation and do not overthink on many things.
  • Get plenty of sleep - this is a good habit that you can never go wrong. Our body needs a good sleep. Try to do a little meditation and say your prayers before sleeping as it helps a lot.
  • Stay away for toxic people - if you start to feel something negative from someone and if some person tries to make you feel bad. Stay away from him or her. Cut people out of your life who take advantage of you. Simple signs. If someone spreads rumors or talks badly about someone  they’re likely to do the same for you.
  • Eat Healthy - be mindful of what you eat. We are what we eat. Practice to control your mind and eliminate processed foods from your diet as much as possible.

Spreading a Peace of Advice

We sometimes forget to be more humble and be more kind because we live in city full of noise and people are busy. We come home and it is still loud and we always tell people we cannot go on a quiet vacation because we are busy, busy, busy. I think we must ponder on some people's advises on how to find peace within us and have an easier and meaningful life in such situation.

Many people doesn't know what the word busy literally means. Some of us are just busy nibbling on their phones and busy making money, to buy what? How pretty life could be if we spend our precious time in a more valuable manner. But it is not easy to change people's perception nowadays. It may take a while for us to inject those principles that we truly need.

Below are some inspirational quotes and advise to ponder:

“Being relaxed, at peace with yourself, confident, emotionally neutral loose, and free-floating — these are the keys to successful performance in almost everything.” —Wayne W. Dyer

“You should feel beautiful and you should feel safe. What you surround yourself with should bring you peace of mind and peace of spirit.” —Stacy London

“Peace is a daily, a weekly, a monthly process, gradually changing opinions, slowly eroding old barriers, quietly building new structures.” —John F. Kennedy

“No person, no place, and no thing has any power over us, for 'we' are the only thinkers in our mind. When we create peace and harmony and balance in our minds, we will find it in our lives.” —Louise L. Hay

"Peace cannot be kept by force. It can only be achieved by understanding." —Albert Einstein

"Don't search for anything except peace. Try to calm the mind. Everything else will come on its own." —Baba Hari Das
